Apple has announced that a brand-new iMac will be released on Friday, November 8th! This isn’t just your standard iMac; this version will feature the new M4 chipset and Apple Intelligence, making it one of the most powerful iMacs to date. Here’s more on what to expect!
The magic behind the M4 chipset
Apple’s incredible M4 chipset first debuted in the iPad Pro in May 2024 and will now be featured in the new 2024 iMac. According to Apple, this M4 iMac will be 1.7x faster for daily productivity tasks and up to 2.1x faster for demanding work tasks such as photo editing and gaming compared to iMac’s with the M1 chip. In comparison to popular Windows all-in-ones, the M4 is up to 4.5x faster, setting a new standard for power and efficiency.
Hello Apple Intelligence!
The new iMac comes equipped with Apple Intelligence, a cutting-edge personal assistant packed with powerful features. Enjoy enhanced Writing Tools, an even smarter Siri, and seamless ChatGPT integration, all designed to make your experience smoother and more productive than ever!
New Nano-Texture Display Option
The dynamic expansive 24-inch 4.5K Retina display on this iMac is an attention grabber. For the first time, this display will be available with a Nano-texture glass option that aims to drastically reduce annoying reflections and glares whilst maintaining flawless image quality.
Improved Video Calls With a 12MP Centre Stage Camera
A new 12MP Centre Stage Camera pushes the 2024 iMac to new levels of greatness. This lens ensures everyone stays perfectly framed during video calls, making it ideal for family FaceTime gatherings. Desk View utilises the wide-angle lens to show both the user and a top-down view of their workspace—a valuable tool for educators teaching a lesson or creators showcasing their latest project.
Completing this exceptional audio and video setup is a studio-quality, three-microphone array with an immersive six-speaker sound system for a truly superior experience.
More RAM
A minimum of 16GB of RAM is available for the new iMac compared to 8GB for the previous model. It’s expected that this will become the new minimum for iMacs going forward.
What colours is the new 2024 iMac available in?
Picking the colour of your iMac is an exciting experience – so you’ll be thrilled to hear that a gorgeous array of 7 new colours is up for grabs. The new iMac is available in Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Blue and Silver.
