Getting a new phone means learning the ropes all over again and we want to make it super easy so here’s how to delete apps on an iPhone 7 Plus!
There are a few ways you can delete apps from your iPhone 7 and neither of them are particularly difficult to grasp. The iOS running on phones supports the 3D touch in the iPhone. This can make it a little confusing for people who aren’t brilliant with tech.
What is 3D touch?
Apple’s 3D touch was first introduced to their phones in September 2015. 3D touch means you can have different levels of interaction with a regular glass screen. This supports their gestures, often on iMessages, which act as a quick, hasty reply to messages.
The interactive touch feature also allows the user to access certain areas in apps far quicker than previous models. For example, if you hard touch on the Safari icon, you’ll have the option to access bookmarks, or open new tabs. This works on the majority of apps on the iPhone.
If you would like to use 3D touch, you first have to make sure it is activated through Settings – General – Accessibility – 3D Touch and flick the switch.
Deleting Apps with 3D Touch
Deleting an app with 3D touch is the quickest way if you understand how to do it correctly. We’re going to explain how to delete apps on an iPhone 7 Plus using 3D touch in its simplest form.
First, you need to go to the app you want to delete on your home screen. Once you can see the app, lightly press and hold your finder on the icon. It should begin to wobble, along with all the other apps on your home screen.
Select the ‘X’ in the top left corner of the app icon you want to delete. A warning message will pop up to double check you would like to delete the app. Just select ‘delete’ and the app will be gone. Once you’ve deleted all the apps you want, click ‘done’ in the top right corner and your phone will return to normal.
Deleting Apps with Settings
Some people may find this way easier, although it is slightly longer. There’s no need to perfect the 3D touch feature of the phone this way.
First, you will need to go into your settings and follow through to general. You should see ‘iPhone Storage’ halfway down the screen, select this then scroll down until you find the app you want to delete.
Tap the app icon and scroll right to the bottom of the page. You should see ‘Delete App’ in red followed by a little explanation. Click this and a pop up will appear, you’ll just need to select ‘Delete App’ on this as well.
