iPhone 14 Series Leaks & Rumours

Apple’s big iPhone 14 launch is getting closer and closer, and the questions from fans are flooding in. What new iPhone sizes can you expect? Will there be any new funky colours? Or perhaps a bionic chip upgrade? Well, here’s what we’ve picked up from the usual tech blogs across the internet this month. Those that at least have a better reputation than your average reddit forum user!

Apple is notoriously secret when it comes to all the details before a launch. iPhone 14 Sizes

If you’re a lover of bigger iPhones you’ll be happy to hear this one. Apple are allegedly waving goodbye to their mini-series due to lacklustre sales, and instead is focusing on larger-sized iPhones instead. Its speculated that the iPhone 14 series will consist of a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, a 6-inch iPhone 14 Max and lastly a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max – yes you heard that right the Max is speculated to replace the Mini. The same flat-edged design as the iPhone 13-series is apparently set to remain.

iPhone 14 New Face ID Hardware Design

On former iPhone devices, a small notch houses the hardware needed for Face ID technology – a design feature Apple is apparently looking to scrap. Some iPhone 14 models, particularly the iPhone 14 Pro will apparently instead adopt a sleeker pill-shaped cutout (which will house the front-facing lens), and an additional circular cutout (which will house the technology needed for Face ID). This feature is a step forward in giving fans that sleeker look they’ve been craving. 

iPhone 14 Colours 

The experience of selecting a new smartphone colour is an exciting one- especially if it’s an iPhone! The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max is rumoured to feature the classic Apple go-to colours: Black (Midnight), White (Starlight), Blue, and Red but with the addition of a Purple shade! – what a perfect way to spice up the look of your phone. Alternatively, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is rumoured to come in Graphite, Silver and Gold – again the new purple colour variant is speculated to be available for both. 

Hello Titanium 

The iPhone 14 series will apparently be tougher than ever thanks to the introduction of a high-end titanium alloy chassis design, a material Apple has used before only on their Apple Watches. If true, this will be the first time in history Apple has used this material for an iPhone. 

iPhone 14 Chip Upgrade: A16 Bionic

Rumours have suggested that the Apple A15 Bionic chip that’s featured in the iPhone 13-series is getting a makeover, and selected iPhone 14 series models will feature an upgraded super-fast A16 Bionic chipset instead. This could be the highly anticipated step needed to achieve performance like no other.
