iPhone 16 Launch Date 

The launch date of the iPhone 16 handsets is one the easiest things to predict. Every September, Apple announces a shiny new lineup, however, there have been variations when it comes to the specific date. For example, the iPhone 15 series was unveiled on the 5th of September 2023, alternatively, its predecessor series was revealed on the 7th of September 2022. All Four Models Potentially Featuring the Same New A18 Bionic Chip

Traditionally, Apple’s baseline models, such as the iPhone 15, are equipped with slightly lower-performing chipsets compared to the higher-end Pro models, like the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Code discovered by Nicolás Alvarez and shared with Mac Rumours suggests that Apple will completely flip this standard on its head, and instead feature the same new A18 Bionic chipset across all of the iPhone 16 models. If true, this could be a huge benefit for those looking for a lower-cost iPhone with equally powerful performance as the Pro models. 

Potential New Face ID Design

Reported by the Telegraph around 6 weeks ago, it’s rumoured that the iPhone 16 series will feature potential modifications to the Face ID system. The details of this rumour are still under wraps, but over the years Apple have been consistently modifying small internal components of the Face ID system, so it’s assumed that this will follow suit with the 16 models. 

Pro Models – Brighter & More Efficient Displays 

Who doesn’t love a bright smartphone display? Weibo Leaker Instant Digital claimed

that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a display with an impressive peak brightness of 1,200 nits. If true, this figure is 20% higher than Apple’s previous iPhone 15 Pro! This not only will enhance overall visibility but it will also make activities like scrolling on TikTok, flicking through photos and reading emails more satisfying than ever. 

New Action Button Upgrade

The last rumour on the list is regarding the Action Button which was recently introduced exclusively to the iPhone 15 Pro models. MacRumors have claimed that they’ve had some insight into internal documentation hinting that the action button will go from a physical button to a captive touch button; enhancing functionality. This will not only create a sleeker appearance for the iPhone 16 but it will also make it more user-friendly.
