The new and long-awaited Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were finally revealed to the public on Wednesday the 4th of October, and it’s safe to say Android worldwide fans were more than impressed. Let’s take a look at what these two flagships have to offer!
New ‘Best Take’ Feature
We’ve all been in the annoying scenario where you snapped a group photo, and upon checking it you realise that one person is blinking mid-shot or even worse talking mid-shot – these things happen. The Google Pixel 8 duo completely eliminates this issue with the new Best Take feature. This feature allows you to take multiple shots with one tap and lets you replace any instances of closed eyes, in a person’s headshot, with another shot where their eyes are open. This ensures that you can consistently capture flawless group photos without any blips.
Audio Magic Eraser
Various factors can hinder your ability to capture a flawless video, whether it’s the background noise of your dog barking, your children’s excited screams, or even the sounds from the television. With the new Audio Magic Eraser feature you can strip unwanted elements of background noise and have what audio you really want take centre stage.
Magic Editor
Now we’ve all heard of Google’s Pixel’s famous Magic Eraser feature, which allows you to get rid of unwanted objects within your photos – well this has had an upgrade! The new Magic Editor feature allows you to cut out objects within your shot and move them to anywhere within the frame! Rest assured no odd gaps will be left behind either thanks to software which will fill the space left behind with what should be there.
Video Boost
Exclusive to just the Google Pixel 8 Pro, the new Video Boost feature is a toggle you can switch on when you taking video clips in low lighting or circumstances where the video you’re taking is action-packed. A copy of your video is then made and sent to Google’s Cloud for processing. During this stage stabilisation is improved, clarity is upgraded and noise is reduced, this will then be saved down to your device giving you pretty much the perfect video.
